I chose these layouts from my research of local newspapers. Originally I had planned to put a few adverts on my front cover however I realised that it took up far too much room and didnt allow for much writing which went against the conventions of local newspapers.
I also changed the position of the top subsidary article and put it down the side so that the main article would be the first one the reader would see.
On my second page I decided to only have
one subsidary article at the bottom of the page and replace the other half with an advert so that it would not be as long as the main article.
